About Us
The Academy for Advanced Scientific Communication in English assists intermediate and advanced users of the English language to refine their existing reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. It helps those who wish to use English within a scientific context to enhance their competence in order to successfully complete high-stakes tests (such as the International English Language Testing System [IELTS] or the Occupational English Test [OET]) or to effectively communicate in a medical or healthcare environment. The Academy also aids practicing medical professionals, dental professionals and academics working in healthcare-related disciplines within universities to enhance their level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
The Academy provides:
- practice reading questions for IELTS, OET and English as a Professional Language.
- practice listening questions for IELTS, OET and English as a Professional Language.
- mock exams for IELTS, OET and English as a Professional Language.
- writing tasks (essays; descriptions; summaries; letters), which will be marked by a tutor whose native language is English.
- plentiful opportunities to practise speaking in English with a tutor (native English speaker) via Skype or Zoom.

It is envisaged that, in aiding non-native speakers of the English language to strengthen and perfect their linguistic aptitudes, the gap between professionals from a variety of diverse backgrounds will be bridged. This will ultimately facilitate the communication of science at the most advanced level globally.
